President Message

I am excited and honoured to invite you to attend the Pakistan Society for the Study of Liver Diseases (PSSLD) 15th Annual Conference from 3 – 5, December 2021, at Serena Hotel Islamabad. COVID-19 pandemic has changed the life of all of us. It has affected our practices of managing patients as well. ‘Practising Hepatology in Changing Times’ is thus the theme of the Conference. As all the health care workers in Pakistan have been vaccinated against COVICD-19, we have made a bold decision to meet each other in person at the meeting, while observing the COVID SOPs. I am aware that some of you still will not be able to attend especially the international delegates, we have retained the hybrid model. I am proud to report that our last annual virtual meeting PSSLD was a big success and I am sure that the hybrid PSSSLD 2021 In Sha Allah will be an impetus to boost research, exchange views, and develop innovative protocols.

The conference will include a postgraduate course on cirrhosis and its complications. The interactive symposia will focus on viral hepatitis, elimination of hepatitis, NAFLD, autoimmune liver diseases, hepatocellular carcinoma, liver failure, and, and liver transplantation. The meeting’s content and activities are tailored to a wide audience of hepatologists, gastroenterologists, internists, general practitioners and postgraduate students. The faculty will include eminent national and international experts, who will present updates, original work and state-of-the-art lectures. Technical and clinical problems in the COVID era and their solutions will be discussed.

We urge our colleagues to participate enthusiastically and honour us with their presence. It will be an exciting, educational meet for all.
