President PSSLD
I would be amiss if the due appreciation is not accorded to the organizing committee, scientific committee, and others working tirelessly behind the scenes, to make this a success story for you and us.
PSSLD has come a long way from the visionary inception of its Giants like Prof Wasim Jaffri, Prof Saeed Hamid, Prof Zaigham Abbas, and Prof Masood Siddique, but it can never grow without you and never prosper without an infusion of new blood and ideas. So join us in this celebration and be a part of it and make PSSLD part of you.
Thanking you all May you live long and prosper

Dear Colleagues,
On behalf of the Pakistan Society for the Study of Liver Diseases (PSSLD), it is with great pleasure that I extend a warm and heartfelt welcome to all of you for the PSSLD Annual Meeting on December 8-10, 2023 at Serena Hotel Islamabad. We are excited to host this prestigious event, and our anticipation is heightened by the overwhelming response of abstract submissions from all over the country in the field of hepatology. This level of participation underscores the significance and relevance of the topics we are set to explore.
The annual PSSLD meeting features a galaxy of national and international experts in hepatology who will share their invaluable insights and findings, creating a dynamic platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration. The diversity of perspectives and experiences is bound to foster enlightening discussions and innovative ideas.
As the Chair of the Scientific Committee, I am deeply honored to be a part of this event, and I want to assure you that our team has worked tirelessly to curate a program that is not only intellectually stimulating but also personally enriching. We aim to create an atmosphere that encourages dialogue, fosters connections, and promotes advancements in liver disease research. The Scientific Program covers relevant and practical concepts in the field of Hepatology.
It opens up with day-to-day hepatology case scenarios, offering a real world glimpse into the challenges and complexities faced by clinicians; followed by postgraduate course with emphasis on management of HCC and liver transplantation. On the final day of our scientific program, we have assembled a diverse and insightful lineup of sessions that will explore liver diseases in pregnancy, pediatric hepatology, and metabolic dysfunction-associated liver diseases. These critical areas of hepatology have gained increasing attention in recent years, and our expert speakers will delve into the latest research, diagnostic challenges, and treatment approaches. Free papers and poster presentations are always been PSSLD annual conferences’ highlights. Best free papers and posters will be rewarded with certificates and cash awards to encourage or trainees and young faculty. Industries participation will highlight the latest innovations in the field and the ones attending physically can meander into stalls and enjoy themselves.
In addition to our already impressive lineup, we are delighted to announce the launch of the inaugural Young Hepatologists Forum, a platform dedicated to nurturing and supporting emerging talent in the field. This forum will provide emerging leaders and young researchers with opportunities to interact with established experts, learn from their experiences, and network with peers.
Your participation and engagement are crucial to making this event a resounding success, and we are grateful for your presence. We look forward to your active involvement, sharing of your knowledge, and the enthusiasm that each of you brings to this meeting.
If you have any questions or require assistance during the event, please do not hesitate to reach out to our team. We are here to ensure that your experience is both enjoyable and productive.
Once again, welcome to the PSSLD Annual Meeting 2023, and let us collectively embark on this journey of learning and collaboration.
