It is a great pleasure and honor to invite you to PSSLD’s 16th annual meeting, being held in Karachi. This event is the main highlight of our society’s academic activities and a forum, which brings together the luminaries in the field of Hepatology, both national and international to share knowledge and experience with physicians, PGs, family physicians, and other allied professionals. The Society has come a long way with great efforts from pioneers like Prof Waseem Jaffri, Prof Saeed Hamid, Prof Zaigham Abbas, and Prof Masood Siddique. We owe them gratitude.
The activities planned this year will enrich us, not only with information but deeper insights gained over years from clinical practice and research, by these outstanding individuals who have come together here for you. I urge you to make full use of this opportunity and increase your knowledge and wisdom. It would ultimately benefit our patients and communities.
You will find a panoply of styles, content, and different formats to communicate and impart knowledge, with something for everyone and a lot for everybody interested. There are talks on hot topics in Hepatology, poster presentations, PG course, industry exhibitions, interactive sessions, and workshops.
The organizing committee has worked hard and long to put together an assortment of different programs and symposia, this would definitely pique your interest. We must appreciate the efforts of the Vice President of PSSLD Prof Amna Subhan under whose able leadership this activity has come to fruition.
The most important guest, however, are our delegates i.e you, attending the conference and being curious and interested, who make it a success.
Please honor the speakers and facilitators with your active and full participation, attend the sessions and encourage the speakers in their endeavors. It should be an enjoyable and relaxing experience for you, a forum where you meet your colleagues, and seniors and form networks.
Please join us as members and contribute to the growth of Society, if you are convinced that we are doing something which makes a difference.
The PSSLD prides itself in being an advocate of young and talented, collaborating with other specialties, and innovating in teaching and imparting knowledge. Please let us know your feelings and if we fall short of our stated claims.
Thanking you
Prof Amjad Salamat
President of PSSLD
