COVID-19 and Liver Guidance for Patients

Welcome to PSSLD

Pakistan Society for the Study of Liver Diseases (PSSLD) is the leading Liver society of Pakistan, working for the prevention and control of liver diseases in the country. We are striving to address the lack of awareness of liver diseases on one hand and their rising incidence on the other both among the general public at large and the medical community specifically. Join us for the noble cause of fighting against liver diseases.

Vision

We envision a Pakistan where a common man is aware of the significance of healthy liver function, and healthcare professionals can support them at primary, secondary and tertiary healthcare centers to prevent and treat liver ailments, hence to ensure a hepatitis free Pakistan.

Mission Statement

COMMITTED TO SERVE FOR THE PREVENTION AND CONTROL OF LIVER DISEASES

With this vision we are working on a mission of enhancing the knowledge and practices of the science of hepatology of the healthcare professionals to reach international standards of quality liver-related healthcare.

With the above vision in mind, we are augmenting our efforts by increasing the public awareness about liver diseases and the measures to prevent these diseases at the individual and community level to ultimately eradicate communicable liver diseases from Pakistan.

President’s Message

It is a great honor and privilege for me to have taken over the appointment of President PSSLD. This is because of all of you, reposing confidence in me for taking care of the organization for next 02 yrs.

It is indeed a great responsibility, a daunting task to fill in the shoes of outstanding individuals like Prof Syed Mohammad Waseem Jafri, Prof Saeed Sadiq Hamid, Prof Masood Siddiq and Prof Zaigham Abbas. They have not only taken this society to maturity, but developed its reputation and core academic values which are appreciated by all.

The Society has a sound International standing because of stalwarts I mentioned above. The steering committee comprising of them is still very much involved with society, guides the growth of the organization and is highly valued by all of us. READ MORE
